Adopting Underprivileged Families in Sri Lanka

Anonymous Donor

We are thrilled to share the heartwarming news that a pair of anonymous donors has graciously agreed to adopt a struggling Sri Lankan family, ensuring they have the resources needed for a stable and supportive life. This generous couple will be providing ongoing financial support to cover the living expenses of a family consisting of a husband, wife, their two sons, and a daughter. The head of the household works as a janitor, while the wife is a stay-at-home mother. Despite their financial hardships, their oldest child has recently received a scholarship to St. Anthony’s Convent in Katugastota, Kandy, offering them a glimmer of hope amidst their challenges. This scholarship not only provides educational opportunities but also introduces the family to the Catholic faith, enriching their lives with its teachings.

Another anonymous donor has generously adopted a young girl and her brother who recently lost their father to illness. With their mother unemployed, they endure numerous hardships on a daily basis. Despite these challenges, the young girl continues her education at Good Shepherds Convent in Kandy, where she is among the underprivileged children accepted with the aim of evangelization. Through the generosity of the anonymous donor, this family receives much-needed support to navigate their difficult circumstances.

Our Mother of Hope Apostolate is pleased to announce that we have adopted our 3rd underprivileged family in Sri Lanka.

This is a young father who is trying to make ends meet after his wife left him with the two children. Due to lack of educational qualifications, he is unable to acquire a well paying job. Hence, he does odd jobs around town to survive. He has built up a reputation as a honest hardworking man in the community. This family also shares in our Catholic faith.

We will be remitting $100 per month, starting from this month of February 2025, to assist with their basic needs.
